Our Philosophy

 

At SMM Law our aim is to handle each client’s transactions to that client’s satisfaction. We represent clients across the County of Northumberland: residents, landowners, active business people, retirees. We want you to understand and feel comfortable about any matter you bring to our office. If we can’t help you ourselves, we will find someone who can.

SMM Law Professional Corporation is active in many Northumberland communities from Cobourg and Port Hope to Brighton and Trenton, through fundraising, participating in community organizations and endeavours, and supporting various educational opportunities. For example, since 1996 SMM Law Professional Corporation and its predecessor, has presented “Wills Week” each October to raise funds for the Northumberland United Way. For a $100 donation to the United Way, a basic will is prepared for an individual. In 2009, 160 wills were prepared under this programme. To date we have raised more than $136,000.

SMM Law also provides legal advice at reduced cost to several local charitable organizations. It also gives financial support to Hospice Northumberland and to a girl’s high school in Kenya.

SMM Law welcomes requests for gift certificates for the preparation of wills, used by local charitable organizations in silent auction fundraisers.
